Various spare parts are available for Vetus Diesel M3.10 heat exchanger assemblies.
Vetus have manufactured a small quantity of new heat exchanger housings to the original drawings to provide a replacement for older engines: these are identifiable by the revised 'V' logo on the casting and the black coating inside, which protects against corrosion. The new housings are a direct replacement for the original ones.
Please note that the design of the heat exchanger filler cap has changed in 2019 and the original metal cap is no longer available.
The new plastic cap is used for heat-exchanger cooled engines and keel-cooled engines, regardless of whether they have a calorifier or expansion tank fitted.
The cap vents at 1.0 bar and a small length of pipe can be used to drain any coolant overflow into the bilge.
The new filler cap MUST be used with the new-design filler neck - please order a filler neck as well if you require one: this is screwed into the heat exchanger housing and replaces the original filler neck (which may have been pressed into the housing).
